Route:
From the Budapest-Balaton bicycle route, we start the tour from Magyar-kút towards Rókusfalvi Fogadó (Inn) in Alcsútdoboz road. At the end of the village you can turn left to find the wineries on Öreghegy (Old Hill). The fascinating experience offered by the cellars is not to be missed, but it is recommended to look at the lookout tower at the beginning of the street. The route continues in the direction of the Alcsútdoboz, then after 5 kilometers we turn right at the bottom of the slope onto a gravel road, where the magical atmosphere of Diána-tó (Diána Lake) and a medieval film set are hidden. This environment may be ideal for a picnic. Leaving the lake, we can enjoy the village view of Göböljárás, then return to the main road, where after a few kilometers we pass Pannónia Golf & Country-Club, and then we take delight in the protected row of sycamore trees of Alcsútdoboz. We roll along the quiet street of the village, then cross the main road, and find ourselves on a gravel road around the arboretum. During these few minutes, we reach the entrance to the park, where it is worth taking an easy walk. Founded in 1820 by József archduke, the park is situated on an area of 40 hectares. In February, we can walk on common snowdrop fields, and in June we may admire the swarming of fireflies. Next to the arboretum, there is a stop of the Válvölgyi narrow-track railway, which is ideal for cyclists, since we can also take our bicycles on the train. Full price tickets cost HUF 500, discount tickets are HUF 300, and bicycle tickets are HUF 350. The downloadable route (GPX) is a one-way tour, it is recommended to return to the Budapest-Balaton bicycle route on the same route.
