Testimonial: We will connect Etyek and Ercsi in the Central Transdanubian region on a 50-kilometer wildlife trail. Although the route rarely marked with signs is a real adventure trip, the Etyek-Martonvásár section is paved, while the Martonvásár-Ercsi section is a dirt road. It is recommended for advanced, adventurous cyclists, especially in dry weather, with its own map route, based on the downloadable trail found here. Route: We start from Etyok on the Budapest-Balaton bike path and immediately encounter mountainous slopes. The effort is worth it, because we are on wonderful roads with vineyards and almond trees all the way from Korda Film Studio to Gyúró.

Through the Gymnasium and Tordas, we reach Martonvásár by going through Buba. We will also cross the railway before we reach the highlight of the settlement, Brunszvik Castle. A highlight is the beautifully renovated historical monument built in Baroque-Neogothic style and the associated magnificent castle park.

The tour has so far been on paved roads, but after arriving from Martonvásár a wilder, nature-like experience awaits us, this is recommended only for experienced cyclists with bicycles suitable for the terrain.

The route, which is still rarely marked with signs, continues in a ferocious landscape, mainly on dirt roads. Traces that can get muddy in case of rain provide a special experience, we can get to know the Ercsi micro-region from a new perspective.

After crossing the M6 motorway, we cross the Szent László stream, and soon arrive at our destination on the Danube, Ercsi. We recommend that you arrive at the Danube and have a refreshing drink on the calm waterfront. Towards Budapest you can take trains from Ercs to Déli railway station. The downloadable route (GPX) is a one-way tour, it is recommended to return to the Budapest-Balaton bicycle route on the same route.

Embarkation point: Budapest-Balaton bicycle path, Etyek, Hungarian fountain

To whom do we recommend: Terrain for advanced cyclists

How to get out: Martonvásár and Ercsi train station.
