Testimonial:

Our tour presents Etyek's pride in the triple spirit of wine, beer and nature. During our journey, we will have the opportunity to taste wine and beer, as well as to explore and try what local gastronomy has to offer.

Route:

After arriving at Etyek, leaving the main road, we first set out to the Körpince (Circular Cellar), where we can find many cellars in a spectacular arrangement. Moving on, we reach the center of the settlement, where we have several opportunities to refill our drinks.

Passing by the Kálvária-domb (Calvary Hill), we aim for the vineyards of Öreg-hegy ( Old Hill). After climbing the high-quality paved road, the first signs attracting us to wineries and restaurants appear. As we ascend, we turn right towards the mountain top, where the road quality changes: cobblestone with earth sections at some points. We pass by elegant wine terraces to get back to the highway, and then on Újhegy (New Hill) we pass along a number of restaurants and wineries towards Botpuszta.

When we reach the end of Újhegyi road, we turn right, where we descend to the highway on a steep, 20% slope. Particular attention should be paid to our safety here, so that we can stop in time before the busy road and safely cross over to the other side.

We shortly arrive at the final destination of our journey, Etyeki Sörmanufaktúra (Beer Factory), where you can also attend a wine tour after prior booking.

The downloadable route (GPX) is a one-way tour, it is recommended to return to the Budapest-Balaton bicycle route on the same route.

Embarkation point: Budapest-Balaton bicycle route, the East end of Etyek

To whom do we recommend: Mountain bikers

How to get out: the nearest train station is at the next settlement, Biatorbágy
