length 10 km

Testimonial:

Starting from Etyek, you may reach the hidden Diana-tó by crossing the surrounding spectacular hills. On the way, there are several options for relaxation, meals and wine tasting.

Route:

Our route starts from the centre of Etyek, where we pass next to Kálvária-domb (Calvary Hill) right at the beginning. Those who look for challenge may climb the spectacular hillside that rises above the settlement, leaving the bicycles behind. On the way up, you can see the stations of the cross decorated with mosaic images, and have a good view of the town from above.

The route passes through Öreghegy (Old Mountain), where the cellars of the Etyek-Buda wine region await visitors with local wines. The steep slope leading to the mountain requires proper fitness, but if put back in the right gear, it is a challenge suitable for people of all ages.

A few kilometres away, Diána-tó (Lake Diana), part of Alcsútdoboz, is a popular fishing lake and excursion spot among the picturesque hills of Etyek. It offers a playground and picnic places for hikers who want to relax. On its shore we can also see a 9th century film scenery village, which was used in the production of film series and films in Hungary.

The route runs almost all the way on asphalt, the quality of which is mostly excellent, but sometimes there are potholes, so it is primarily recommended for those arriving on trekking bikes. The road to Diána-tó is made of well-maintained gravel for a few hundred meters.

The route leads on a highway for 2.5 km, where there may be more traffic, so it is not recommended for hikers with small children.

The downloadable route (GPX) is a one-way tour, it is recommended to return to the Budapest-Balaton bicycle route on the same route.
