Testimonial: from Dunakeszi to the island and back. A tour of the streets and bicycle paths with little traffic can be a pleasant part of a Budapest-Dunakeszi bicycle ride for the whole family. Super stores, ferry, waterfront – all for a round summer afternoon on a bike!
Route: from Dunakeszi, a cycling stop along EuroVelo 6, we reach the Dunakeszi ferry port within a kilometer, from where ships depart every 20 minutes during the day. At the end of the 10-minute journey, including the short embarkation and disembarkation, we reach the bicycle path at the border of Horány. We are on a marked section of the dam, where it is recommended to stop for a short refreshment at one of the waterfront restaurants. At the end of the dam, the bike path turns towards the center of Szigetmonostor, we follow it all the way, then we return to Horány from the center of the settlement. The familiar ferry port will soon appear on the horizon among the cozy holiday buildings. The longest waiting time on the way back is also 20 minutes.
