The route leads from the bicycle path to the Dunakeszi Peat Lakes. The route first takes you on roads within the city, and then on the gravel and sandy terrain around the Peat Lakes. You can take a pleasant ride around the Peat Lakes on lovely streets, just a few kilometers from the bicycle route.
Route:
Leaving the EuroVelo 6 bicycle route, we head towards Dunakeszi, then turn left at the construction materials shop, onto a good gravel road, from which after 200 meters, we have to go right through the parking lot of the petrol station. Leaving the roundabout, we only have to go along a paved, then crushed stone road to get to the Peat Lakes. During the journey around the lakes, you can absorb the unique atmosphere of the place. Unfortunately, there is not much left of the peat bogs south of the fishing lakes surrounded by buildings.
The downloadable route (GPX) is one-way, it is recommended to return to the Budapest-Dunakeszi bicycle route on the same route.
