The tour may start from Brennbergbánya, Görbehalomtelep or the parking lot of Fehér-úti Lake.

Tour description:

The famous Brennbergbárnya is our starting point, where Hungary's first coal mine operated. Before or after the tour, there is an interesting exhibition at the Memorial Mining Museum of how mining was conducted. We leave the Alpine style village parallel to the path of the former railway, then we turn west into the Hidegvíz valley in the village of Görbehalom. Rolling along cozy forest roads, we reach the Fehér-úti Lake, were we take a rest and then continue by the Lackner cross. On the elevating roads, with a little detour, we may check out the entrance to the nearby Saint Stephen Mine. Rolling downwards, we reach New Hermes and Old Hermes, then back to Brennbergbánya.

Memorial Mining Museum

The mining exhibition building is also a protected industrial historic monument. The first steam machine in a Hungarian mine operated here from 1840. In the museum, traces of mining production may also be observed: the first opencast mining and the dents signaling the location of deep mines are still visible."
